April 17th cont...
- Ohhh my goodness!!! I am sooo excited!!!! Look what she's doing!!!! Sucking, actually sucking on her pacifier!!!! She hasn't shown any interest in oral feeding since the day she was born!!!! This is amazing!!!!
- I am so excited that my baby girl is continuing to make strides in the right direction! The highs and lows I've felt this week are overwhelming! The love and support being poured out for my baby girl is simply amazing and I can't help but feel that God is hearing the prayers! Please God watch over my sweet Makinley and work miracles in her life! They have also increased her feeds to 20ml now which is a big increase! They are still feeding her on a continuous drip into her intestines which isn't ideal and she still is getting quite a bit of junk into the tube from her mouth.... However it's baby steps and they are heading finally in a positive direction! Our favorite night nurse is back with our little angel tonight after Jordan did some begging at the front desk lol. It makes us feel more secure and we can rest a bit easier when we know there is someone here that is so caring and goes the extra mile for our baby! I just hope we aren't inconveniencing anyone with our requests! Keep it up sweet baby girl, lets have another good night!
- The nurse just came in and said they are going to change the tube in her throat to a bigger one because they are concerned that this one is clogged and it may be causing her to have a tummy ache. She keeps crying and screaming (she's recently discovered she can scream and is being quite vocal lately with her complaints) I love it! Normally I wouldn't want to hear my baby cry but I love it because she now has a strong cry and is reacting appropriately when she is upset! The nurse also said that they are going to be bringing in a crib for her to sleep in because she no longer needs the medical bed because she is no longer on heat and light therapy! Go baby go! Mama is so proud!
